Сегодня важный день для проекта Joomla! Мы отмечаем два года напряженной работы наших добровольцев, решивших выпускать новую основную версию каждые два года. После большого количества обсуждений, спринтов по написанию кода и устранения ошибок этот день наконец настал и мы с гордостью объявляем о выпуске новой мажорной ( major ) версии Joomla 5.0, наряду с Joomla 4.4.
В Joomla Extensions Directory появился тег совместимости с Joomla 5.

Hi there
It’s Joomla! core component. You should not touch or disable it except you know your works.
You can’t disable via Joomla! Extension Manager. But you can delete this component in database.
But once again, disable or remove it you’ll have your own risky.

Disable ALL email sending from Joomla site

I thought this would be totally simple to do but perhaps I am missing a point somewhere
I am working on a development site in a semi-live environment and have just completed a massive data migration, however despite completely clearing the mail settings in global configuration, my site is still sending out emails from components — HOW.
I need a way to temporarily disable ALL outgoing emails to ensure nothing is sent to anyone (I’ll even forego getting admin mailings if necessary — any suggestions?

Joomla could be using Sendmail or PHPMailer, so you’d have to disable these as well. This is not done through Joomla, but on the server itself.
Another thing you could try would be to change the mail server settings in Joomla admin to use an SMTP server and give it bogus info.

The site is currently hosted in a subdomain environment so I believe turning things off in the server could negatively affect the rest of the sites on the same server, no?
I tried putting in erroneous information for the mail settings but they are still being sent, had not considered the other options though.
Surely this should be an easier thing to do, like a «switch» on/off or the facility to divert all outgoing mail to the admin while in testing?

I am running into this for the first time. I don’t know if it is Joomla 3.0, JCE 2.3.2.4 or neither. I am trying to insert a «mailto;» link in an article. In code view, the link looks correct but when I click the live link, I get this:

I’m not a javascript expert but instead of your paragraph with send email syntax I would use the following code
